President Trump on Friday said he received a “beautiful” letter from North Korean leader Kim Jong Un as the country continues to test ballistic missiles, alarming U.S. allies in the region.
Trump told reporters as he left the White House for a fundraiser in the Hamptons that the two men could meet again in the future to discuss denuclearization. {mosads}
“I think we’ll have another meeting,” Trump said. “He really wrote a beautiful, three-page — I mean, right from top to bottom — a really beautiful letter. And maybe I’ll release the results of the letter, but it was a very positive letter.”
Trump and Kim have held three face-to-face meetings that have yet to yield concrete plan to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula.
North Korea has in recent weeks launched several test missiles, which watchdogs say violates a United Nations treaty.
Trump has downplayed the tests, insisting he has a strong personal relationship with Kim.
