Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats on Sunday announced his plans to step down in a letter to President Trump.
Trump announced the decision in a tweet on Sunday afternoon, noting that Coats would end his time as the U.S.’s top intelligence official on Aug. 15. Coats is set to be replaced by Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-Texas).
