Trump signals he’s pleased with backlash over tweets attacking minority congresswomen

President Trump said Wednesday he is pleased with the fallout from his attacks on four minority, progressive congresswomen because he believes it has helped him paint the Democratic Party as extreme.

“Well, let’s put it this way,” Trump said in an interview with DailyMail.com “I’m not unhappy.”

{mosads}Trump’s remarks come one day after the House passed a resolution along party lines to condemn Trump for his “racist comments” against the lawmakers.

The president said the performance of the economy will force Democrats to “play the race card” against him in the 2020 election, a fight he suggested he is comfortable having.

“The only thing they have, that they can do is, now, play the race card, which they’ve always done,” he said.
