George Conway: Pelosi is playing Trump ‘like a drum’
Lawyer George Conway on Friday once again took aim at President Trump, tweeting that Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is “playing him like a drum.”
Conway, whose wife, Kellyanne Conway, serves as White House counselor, suggested that the president is feeding a feud with the Democratic leader because he is a “pathological narcissist.”
{mosads}“The reason why Trump loves to talk about impeachment, and why he blathers on about it more than most Dems, including Pelosi and all his 2020 opponents combined, is that it concerns what matters to him most, more than his job, and more than the country—himself,” George Conway, a frequent critic of the president, tweeted.
“Politically, of course, he’d be better off if he’d just shut up about it,” he added. “But he’s a pathological narcissist. He can’t help it.”
“Pelosi gets all this. She’s playing him like a drum.”

The comments come as Trump and Pelosi trade barbs in a heated feud over Democrats’ investigations into his administration.
The president threatened this week that he would not work with Democrats on their legislative priorities unless they end their investigations, which he views as an attempted “re-do” of special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe.
He walked out of a meeting with Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) moments after Pelosi said that Democrats think Trump is engaged in a “cover-up” by refusing to cooperate with investigations.
The Democratic leader later said that she thinks Trump is “just crying out” for Democrats to launch impeachment proceedings against him as a way to distract from scandals plaguing his administration.
Trump has shot back at Pelosi with a series of personal insults, including saying that she has “lost it” and labeling her “crazy Nancy.” On Thursday evening, he shared an edited video stringing together a number of apparent speech flubs Pelosi made during a press conference.
Pelosi has also had a number of harsh exchanges with Kellyanne Conway in recent days, prompting the top Trump aide to accuse Pelosi of treating her like “her maid.”
