Conway: Pelosi treated me like ‘her maid’

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway on Thursday accused Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) of treating her like “her maid” after the two had a tense exchange after an ill-fated infrastructure meeting with President Trump.

After Trump stormed out of the meeting on Wednesday, Pelosi said former Presidents Jefferson and Theodore Roosevelt worked with their opponents on infrastructure, but she was not surprised Trump did not follow their example.

{mosads}Conway turned to Pelosi and asked if she had “a direct response to the president,” but the Speaker responded that she addressed the president and not his staff, which prompted the White House aide to shoot back “that’s really pro-woman of you.”

“She’s the sixth-most rich member of Congress, she treats everybody like they’re her staff,” Conway said Thursday on Fox News. “She treats me like I’m either her maid, or her driver, or her pilot or her makeup artist and I’m not.”

Conway added that she believes Pelosi is “not very pro-woman” and is only “pro-some women, a few women.”

Pelosi declined to respond to Conway’s latest barb.

“I’m not going to talk about her,” she said when asked about the comments. “I responded as the Speaker of the House to the president of the United States. Other conversations people want to have among themselves is up to them.”

Pelosi is the 30th-richest member of Congress, with a net worth of roughly $16 million, according to figures compiled by Roll Call in 2018.

Conway and her husband purchased a 15,000-square-foot mansion in Northwest Washington for nearly $8 million several months after she started working at the White House. Conway is worth between $10 million and $39.3 million, according to her 2017 financial disclosure.

The exchange between Conway and Pelosi underscored the tensions between Trump and congressional Democrats over the possibility that lawmakers will begin impeachment proceedings against the president.
