#TrumpTantrum spreads on Twitter after impromptu press conference
Calls for President Trump to resign began circulating on Twitter on Thursday morning, mocking the president for throwing a “#TrumpTantrum” and walking out of a meeting with Democratic leadership this week.
The hashtag refers to Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) claim that Trump acted like a child before walking out of a scheduled meeting to discuss a potential infrastructure package.
“Sadly, the only job the President seems to be concerned with is his own. He threatened to stop working with Democrats on all legislation unless we end oversight of his Administration and he had a temper tantrum for us all to see,” Pelosi wrote on Wednesday.{mosads}
Trump denied her allegation and said he purposefully acted “very polite and calm,” but social media users still seized on Pelosi’s remarks.
The official Twitter account for The Democratic Coalition, an anti-Trump super PAC that targets Republican officials and candidates, began circulating calls for Trump to resign over the incident.
“Trump tried to blackmail Democrats using American infrastructure projects to end all Congressional investigations into him,” the group’s co-founder Scott Dworkin wrote on Twitter. “Then he had a temper tantrum live on international television for the world to see. It was pathetic, sad and weak. #TrumpMustResign. Retweet if you agree.”
The #TrumpMustResign hashtag quickly gained momentum online, with more than 60,000 people using it on Twitter.
Not just because Nancy Pelosi triggered him with only two words lapping to a tantrum.
Trump must resign because he admitted that he lied to Mueller about his knowledge of Don Jr.’s meeting with the Russians.#TheResistance https://t.co/9EsKMxOclp

In Trump’s nervous breakdown in his Rose Garden hissy fit…he inadvertently exposed he was one of the three people Jr. called from the Trump Tower meeting.
He said Jr. called him before the Mtg -then two others.

He caused a government shutdown because the “great dealmaker” couldn’t get a deal done.
He abruptly left a meeting with Kim Jong-Un. Same reason.
Stormed out of an infrastructure meeting with Nancy Pelosi because he had NOTHING.
President Tantrum must GO.#TrumpMustResign

Can we please all agree that this experiment of having a dumb TV host and shady real estate developer with 6 bankruptcies, 5 kids from 3 different marriages, 11 charges of sexual assault, and 4,000 plus lawsuits as president is not going well at all? #TrumpMustResign

Dworkin elaborated on his call for Trump to resign in a statement to The Hill, saying there are several other reasons why the president should step down.
He pointed to Trump’s role in paying adult-film star Stormy Daniels hush money to keep quiet over an alleged affair, which the president has denied, and his attempts to block Democrats in Congress from investigating his campaign, businesses and administration.
“We pushed the #TrumpMustResign hashtag out for those reasons, and for the basic fact that the American people deserve better,” Dworkin told The Hill. “But the fact he tried to blackmail elected officials into ending all viable investigations into him, by using the American people and American infrastructure as the leverage, that really got to me. I think we deserve a swift exit from Trump. And if he won’t resign, he should face impeachment.”
Other social media users highlighted hashtag “#TrumpTantrum” to mock the president’s behavior at Wednesday’s unscheduled press briefing in the Rose Garden and his handwritten notes
#TrumpMustResign if he really cares about America. Spoiler alert: he doesn’t. Expect a #TrumpTantrum daily until he’s hauled away, kicking and screaming. pic.twitter.com/MIgxcLoSTB

“Dems have no ACHOMLISHMENTS.” Hand written by Trump & cannot be blamed on auto-correct or a typing error. I cut people enormous slack for misspelling things, but this level of illiteracy is Stunning & Scary in a President. #TrumpMustGo #TrumpTantrum https://t.co/UGDbVuM8Z8 pic.twitter.com/jaQULI3TOV

Every other POTUS has managed to work while being investigated. Two even continued under Impeachment proceedings:
Nixon worked,
Reagan worked,
Bush worked,
Clinton worked.

#Trump doesn’t believe in labor rights. But he went on strike today. He won’t do the public’s business as long as the House insists on holding him accountable.#TrumpTantrum.

The Democratic Coalition also triggered a viral social media hashtag against Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) earlier this month after the Senate Judiciary Committee chairman encouraged the president’s son, Donald Trump Jr., to invoke the Fifth Amendment when he appears before the Senate Intelligence Committee.
