Trump calls man dressed as border wall on stage at rally

President Trump on Monday night invited a supporter wearing a suit with a brick wall design onstage during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.

{mosads}The encounter occurred as Trump voiced what his administration was doing to enforce further restrictions on immigration at the U.S.-Mexico border. The talking points led the crowd in Montoursville, Pa., to chant, “Build the wall.”

“Look at that, can you get him up here,” Trump said as rally attendees repeatedly chanted the phrase. “Get him up here, c’mon, look at this guy.”

Moments later, a man later identified as Blake Marnell by The Associated Press, appeared donning a “Make America Great Again” hat and a suit that appeared to reference Trump’s long-promised border wall.

Trump declared a national emergency earlier this year to divert military funding to help construct a wall along the southern border.

Trump and Marnell embraced and briefly exchanged words before Trump returned to the podium.

“Now we know who he’s voting for,” Trump said. “Thank you very much.”

Trump has repeatedly discussed issues related to immigration during campaign rallies, and on Monday said that “Democrat-backed policies have left our borders overrun,” according to USA Today

The president made the comments while campaigning for Republican Fred Keller, who on Tuesday is facing Democrat Marc Friedenberg in a special election to represent Pennsylvania’s 12th Congressional District.

The two are vying to replace former Rep. Tom Marino (R-Pa.), who resigned earlier this year.
