Progressive Jewish group protests Trump’s Republican Jewish Coalition speech

Protestors from a progressive Jewish activist group interrupted President Trump’s speech at the Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC).

“Jews are here to say occupation is a plague. Jews are here to say white nationalism is a plague,” the protesters said, according to a statement from the progressive Jewish organization IfNotNow.

Their protests were quickly drowned out by RJC participants who booed them and then chanted “USA” and “Four more years.”{mosads}

“He’s going back home to mommy, and he will be reprimanded,” Trump said, apparently referring to one of the protesters.

According to its website, IfNotNow said the 10 protesters were members of the group, which works to end the Jewish community’s “support for the occupation.”

The protesters said in the statement that they believe President Trump’s agenda is contrary to Jewish values.

“RJC’s embrace of Trump and [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu goes against the Jewish moral tradition by giving political cover to their racist, violent agendas — which are a threat to people around the world and to the future of the American Jewish community,” they said.

Trump has maintained a close relationship with Israel. He pulled the U.S. out of its nuclear agreement with Iran and moved the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
