Giuliani rips ‘disgruntled’ Mueller staffers as ‘sneaky, unethical leakers’

Rudy Giuliani, the personal attorney to President Trump, on Wednesday ripped “disgruntled” members of special counsel Robert Mueller’s team as “a bunch of sneaky, unethical leakers.”

Giuliani — responding to a New York Times report that some Mueller staffers don’t believe Attorney General William Barr‘s summary of their report was an adequate portrayal of the special counsel’s findings — said during an appearance on Fox News’s “The Ingraham Angle” that the Times story validates the Trump team’s past criticisms of Mueller’s group.

{mosads}“It makes the point that we’ve been making for two years despite all of the media reports about how holy and sanctimonious the Mueller team is. They’re a bunch of sneaky, unethical leakers,” he said.

“And they are rabid Democrats who hate the president of the United States. And I can’t tell you how much false information they leaked during the course of the investigation,” Giuliani added.

Giuliani also told The Washington Post on Wednesday that the frustrations were coming from “disgruntled” members of the special counsel team.

Giuliani added during the Fox News interview that he’s “absolutely confident” the full report will show that there was no collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia and no obstruction of justice on the part of Trump.

The Times reported Wednesday that some members of Mueller’s staff believe the findings of the special counsel’s investigation were more damaging to Trump than Barr revealed in a letter to lawmakers he wrote last month.

Barr wrote in the summary that Mueller’s team, which investigated Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, concluded that there was not collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. He also said Mueller did not determine whether Trump obstructed justice, but Barr added that he and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein concluded Trump did not do so.
