Trump says he will respond to ‘some’ of Mueller’s questions
President Trump during an interview on Monday said he will “probably” respond to “some” questions for special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into ties between the Trump presidential campaign and Russia.
His comments came hours after his lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, told Bloomberg News that Trump’s legal team has prepared written answers to several dozen of Mueller’s questions. Giuliani added that they will not share those answers with Mueller’s team until after the midterm elections, which are next week.
{mosads}”I mean it’s ridiculous that I have to do anything because we didn’t do anything,” Trump told Fox News’s Laura Ingraham on “The Ingraham Angle.”
“But we will probably do something, yes, where we’ll respond to some questions,” he added.
Ingraham did not press him any further.
Giuliani on Monday said Trump is so far only willing to answer questions related to whether he colluded with Russia in 2016. He is refusing to answer any questions related to his possible obstruction of Mueller’s probe.
He also said an in-person interview with Mueller is “off the table.”
Trump has spent months calling Mueller’s investigation a “witch hunt” as he insists there was “no collusion” between his campaign and the Kremlin.
Mueller may release some of the findings from his ongoing probe after the midterm elections, according to multiple reports.
