Trump says ‘lock ’em up’ after calling for unity

President Trump on Friday repeated the phrase “lock ’em up” about opponents minutes after calling for unity following the arrest of a suspect in a string of suspicious packages sent to prominent Democrats.

Speaking to a group of young black leaders at the White House, Trump attacked “globalists” he accused of helping foreign countries who are “cheating our workers.”

“They’re called globalists. I like the globe too, but we have to take care of our people,” he said.

Several audience members shouted out “George Soros” and “lock ’em up.”

Trump chuckled, pointed to the crowd and repeated the phrase “lock ’em up.”

The first known suspicious package in the case was addressed to Soros, a billionaire investor who funds liberal causes and has long been a target on the right.

Trump began his remarks by denouncing the bomb scare as “despicable” and a “terrorizing act” while saying the country “must unify.

“The bottom line is that Americans must unify and we must show the world that we are united in peace and love and harmony as fellow American citizens,” he said.
