Trump interviewed replacement for White House counsel McGahn: report

President Trump interviewed Pat Cipollone, a former Justice Department attorney, earlier this week as a possible replacement for outgoing White House counsel Don McGahn, according to The Washington Post.

Cipollone has reportedly been advising Trump’s personal legal team behind the scenes. He practices commercial litigation at Stein Mitchell Cipollone Beato & Missner.

{mosads}Trump announced Wednesday that McGahn would be leaving the White House following the Senate’s confirmation process for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

Despite having a strained relationship with the president, McGahn has played a crucial role in the White House’s efforts to appoint conservative judges to federal courts.
