Trump knocks Cuomo’s ‘blunder’: ‘His political career is over!’

President Trump on Friday afternoon lashed out again at New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo over his claim that America was “never that great,” claiming that Democrat’s “political career is over!”

“Which is worse, Hightax Andrew Cuomo’s statement, “WE’RE NOT GOING TO MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, IT WAS NEVER THAT GREAT” or Hillary Clinton’s “DEPLORABLES” statement,” Trump tweeted on Friday.

Trump was referring to Cynthia Nixon, the former “Sex and the City” star who is running as a progressive challenger to Cuomo in the New York governor’s Democratic primary. Cuomo has a tremendous lead in polling and is expected to secure the Democratic nomination.

{mosads}”We’re not gonna make America great again,” Cuomo said at an event earlier this week, referencing Trump’s 2016 campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again.” “It was never that great.”

“We have not reached greatness,” Cuomo said. “We will reach greatness when every American is fully engaged.”

“We will reach greatness when discrimination and stereotyping against women, 51 percent of our population, is gone,” he continued. “And every woman’s full potential is realized and unleashed and every woman is making her full contribution. When that happens, this nation is going to be taken even higher.”

The governor’s office later clarified the remarks, claiming that Trump has ignored decades of discrimination in the history of the U.S.

“The expression I used the other day was inartful, so I want to be very clear,” Cuomo said on Friday. “Of course America is great and of course America has always been great. No one questions that.”

Trump has previously attacked Cuomo over the remark, claiming his home state’s governor was having “a total meltdown.” The president tweeted about it again earlier Friday, questioning if the governor could “survive” the backlash from the comment.

How does a politician, Cuomo, known for pushing people and businesses out of his state, not to mention having the highest taxes in the U.S., survive making the statement, WE’RE NOT GOING TO MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, IT WAS NEVER THAT GREAT? Which section of the sentence is worse?

Wow! Big pushback on Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York for his really dumb statement about America’s lack of greatness. I have already MADE America Great Again, just look at the markets, jobs, military- setting records, and we will do even better. Andrew “choked” badly, mistake!

When a politician admits that “We’re not going to make America great again,” there doesn’t seem to be much reason to ever vote for him. This could be a career threatening statement by Andrew Cuomo, with many wanting him to resign-he will get higher ratings than his brother Chris!

Cuomo also hit back with his own tweet on Friday, saying “America is great because it rejects” Trump’s “hate-filled agenda.”
