President Trump’s reelection campaign has hired attorney Charles Harder in its arbitration fight against former “Apprentice” star and White House staffer Omarosa Manigault Newman, according to CNBC.
Harder is best known for representing wrestler Hulk Hogan in a sex tape lawsuit against the now-defunct Gawker website.
The campaign announced Tuesday it was filing for arbitration against Manigault Newman in response to claims she’s made in the media and in her tell-all book “Unhinged” detailing her time in the White House.
Manigault Newman claims she heard a tape of the president using a racial slur while he was on “The Apprentice,” that she was offered hush money, that chief of staff John Kelly threatened her when he fired her and that the president has “mentally declined.”
{mosads}During her ongoing media tour, the former White House aide has released tapes of conversations she’s had with Trump campaign officials, Kelly and the president himself.
In the meantime, the White House has already fired back. White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders slammed Manigault Newman at her press conference on Tuesday, calling for the media to stop giving her a platform.
The president has attacked her on Twitter and defending her firing, tweeting Tuesday, “When you give a crazed, crying lowlife a break, and give her a job at the White House, I guess it just didn’t work out. Good work by General Kelly for quickly firing that dog!”
Harder and the Trump campaign did not immediately respond to requests for comment from The Hill.
