Pence to receive briefing on wall progress at US-Mexico border
Vice President Mike Pence will be briefed on the construction of the border wall during his visit to the Mexico-U.S. border next week.
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials will brief Pence on the border wall when he visits the Calexico, Calif., section of the border wall on Monday, according to the White House.
The vice president will then deliver remarks to CBP officials and tour the wall construction.

The upcoming trip will be Pence’s second visit to the southern border as vice president. He first visited the border in February during a trip to Texas.
The trip comes as President Trump rails against a so-called caravan of Central American migrants, a group of around 600 people that reached the border this week and includes refugees seeking asylum.
The president has called for federal officials to prevent immigrants from illegally entering the U.S. and recently sent a limited number of National Guard members to the southern border to assist the border patrol.
The vice president’s trip to Calexico is part of a longer trip to California, where Pence is expected to fundraise alongside House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.).
