MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” poked fun at Fox News host Sean Hannity on Tuesday by featuring a clip from “The Simpsons” in which a cartoon news anchor gets in trouble for making contradictory statements on and off the air.

Following a clip of Hannity going back and forth with attorney Alan Dershowitz on whether he should have revealed that he was a client of President Trump’s personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, “Morning Joe” aired a clip of “The Simpsons” fictional newsman Kent Brockman.

In the clip, Brockman criticizes a ventriloquist dummy for using the word “SOB” then, when he thinks he’s off the air, he says “that ought to hold those SOBs,” landing him in trouble.

A judge on Monday ordered Cohen’s lawyer to reveal the identity of a previously undisclosed client in federal court, just minutes before Hannity was set to go live with his radio show.

It was revealed that Hannity was the client.

On Hannity’s primetime show on Fox News, Dershowitz told the host he should have disclosed his relationship with Cohen during his frequent discussions about Cohen in recent weeks.

Dershowitz is a frequent defender of Trump and his administration.

“If Tom Wolfe had passed this by his wife when he was writing … too much,” “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough said about the plotline being over the top even for the acclaimed author.

Scarborough and his co-host Mika Brzezinski, frequent critics of Trump and Hannity, hit the Fox News host hard for not mentioning his ties to Cohen while also covering and often defending him on the air.

“I don’t know how you get around that. It’s completely, staggeringly, dishonest with his viewers.” Brzezinski said about Hannity’s failure to disclose his ties to Cohen while also defending the lawyer on TV.

“How can you cover the story and not say you are a part of it? I would fire someone who did that on my network,” Brzezinski added.

Hannity said in a statement on Monday that Cohen has never represented him and that he never retained him or paid legal fees.
