Trump: Comey, McCabe ‘committed many crimes’

President Trump on Monday accused former FBI Director James Comey and former Deputy Director Andrew McCabe of committing “many crimes.”

“Comey drafted the Crooked Hillary exoneration long before he talked to her (lied in Congress to Senator G), then based his decisions on her poll numbers,” the president wrote on Twitter. “Disgruntled, he, McCabe, and the others, committed many crimes!”

The tweet from Trump comes after ABC News aired its highly anticipated interview with Comey, whose book, “A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership,” is slated for release Tuesday.

Trump, over the weekend, attacked Comey repeatedly ahead of the interview as excerpts of the book were reported by several news outlets.

“Slippery James Comey, a man who always ends up badly and out of whack (he is not smart!), will go down as the WORST FBI Director in history, by far!” Trump wrote on Twitter Sunday morning.

The president also called the former FBI director “a proven leaker and liar.”

Comey, in the ABC News interview, said Trump is “morally unfit” to lead the U.S. and that there is “evidence” showing the president could have obstructed justice.

Comey is slated for a media blitz over the next two weeks to promote his book. He is scheduled for appearances on Fox News, CNN and PBS following his ABC interview and a sit down with USA Today.
