President Trump on Saturday tweeted the results of a Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) straw poll that showed 93 percent of attendees approving of his job performance in the White House.

The unofficial CPAC straw poll also showed that 79 percent of attendees want the GOP-held House and Senate to do a better job of working with the president.

“BIG CPAC STRAW POLL RESULTS: 93% APPROVE OF THE JOB PRESIDENT TRUMP IS DOING (Thank you!). 50% say President Trump should Tweet MORE or SAME (funny!). 79% say Republicans in Congress should do a better job of working with President Trump (starting to happen),” Trump tweeted.

The straw poll of CPAC attendees takes place annually. This year, the CPAC-Washington Times poll surveyed 1,155 attendees.

As president, Trump has frequently touted polls showing his approval rating, including one earlier in February that showed him with support from 49 percent of Americans.

In the tweet earlier this month, Trump noted that 49 percent approval is higher than his percentage of the vote in his election victory against Hillary Clinton, when he won just over 46 percent of the vote nationwide.

“Rasmussen just announced that my approval rating jumped to 49%, a far better number than I had in winning the Election, and higher than certain ‘sacred cows,’ ” Trump tweeted.

“Other Trump polls are way up also. So why does the media refuse to write this? Oh well, someday!” he continued.
