Trump labels Asia trip ‘tremendously successful’
President Trump early Tuesday labeled his five-nation tour of Asia “tremendously successful,” saying he did “tremendous amounts of work” on trade.
“We’ve had a tremendously successful trip. Tremendous amounts of work was done on trade, not only on the deals — and we have at least $300 billion worth of deals, but that will be, I think, way triple that number in a fairly short period of time,” Trump told reporters in Manila, Philippines.

Trump also reiterated his call for “fair trade,” an issue he raised in Beijing.
“We want fair trade for the United States, because with past administrations — as I said in China and I said very loud and very clear — the United States has been taken advantage of. They’re very giving, and they don’t get in return,” Trump said.
The president also said the White House will “make some comments” later this week, after reporters have some time to “recover” from the trip.
