Trump shrugs off ‘haters’ and media in early morning tweets

President Trump waved off critics and the “Fake News Media” on Friday as he prepared to meet with world leaders at the annual Group of 20 summit in Hamburg, Germany.

“I will represent our country well and fight for its interests! Fake News Media will never cover me accurately but who cares! #MAGA,” he wrote in an early morning tweet, using an abbreviation for his campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again.”

In another tweet less than an hour earlier, Trump thanked the “haters” for the “great reviews” of his address in Warsaw, Poland, on Thursday.

Trump’s speech in Warsaw echoed the stark tone of his inaugural address in January, casting Western civilization as under attack and warning against the dangers posed by “radical Islamic terror.”

The address on Thursday came just before Trump departed for Hamburg ahead of the annual G-20 summit.

Trump is likely to face criticism by some leaders at the summit for his decision in June to withdraw the U.S. from the landmark Paris climate agreement, which is still widely supported by the international community.

He’s also set to hold a highly anticipated meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin — the first such rendezvous between the two leaders. That meeting comes as a special counsel and multiple congressional committees are probing possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia’s efforts to influence the 2016 presidential election.
