President Trump’s top spokesman on Tuesday called the forced removal of a passenger from a United Airlines flight “troubling.”
“I don’t think anyone looks at that video and isn’t disturbed that a man was treated that way,” White House press secretary Sean Spicer told reporters.
Asked if Trump had viewed the video, Spicer responded, “I’m sure he has.”
{mosads}But Spicer declined to say whether the White House or federal authorities would get involved, saying he didn’t want to “get ahead” of an ongoing investigation being conducted by the airline and local authorities.
A videotape emerged Monday of security personnel violently dragging a passenger from his seat who refused to get off a plane in Chicago to make way for airline staff.
The tape sparked nationwide outrage and calls for congressional investigations.
The head of the airline said this week the guards were following “established procedures for dealing with situations like this.”
