President Trump on Saturday spoke with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe about the recent missile strikes against the Syrian regime and about North Korean aggression.

“President Trump thanked Prime Minister Abe for his support for the United States missile strikes in Syria, and the two leaders pledged to show continued resolve in response to al-Assad’s brutal actions,” the White House said on Sunday, referring to the Syrian president.

CNN reported on Sunday that U.S. warships were en route to the Korean Peninsula due to provocations from North Korea.

National security adviser H.R. McMaster during an appearance on “Fox News Sunday” defended the decision to send the carrier group to the Korean Peninsula, arguing it is “prudent to do.”

“North Korea has been engaged in a pattern of provocative behavior. This is a rogue regime that is now a nuclear-capable regime,” McMaster said.
