Ivanka Trump: My dad ‘always listens’ in disagreements

First daughter Ivanka Trump says her father is always receptive to her opinion, even when they disagree.

“Where I disagree with my father, he knows it. And I express myself with total candor,” Trump said of President Trump Wednesday on “CBS This Morning.”

“Where I agree, I fully lean in and support the agenda and hope that I can be an asset to him and make a positive impact. But I respect the fact that he always listens,” she told host Gayle King.

{mosads}“I speak up frequently. And my father agrees with me on so many issues. And where he doesn’t, he knows where I stand.”

Ivanka Trump announced last month she would work as a special White House assistant after initially saying she would only serve as an informal adviser.

In the Wednesday interview, she denied being “complicit” in the actions of her father’s White House.

“If being complicit is wanting to — is wanting to be a force for good and to make a positive impact, then I’m complicit,” Trump said.

“I don’t know that the critics who may say that of me, if they found themselves in this very unique and unprecedented situation that I am now in, would do any differently than I’m doing.”
