First lady Melania Trump on Monday announced her director of communications, naming Stephanie Grisham to lead all communications on behalf of her office.
“Stephanie is a wonderful addition to our team,” Trump said in statement. Grisham will also be a special assistant to President Trump.
“She brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the job, and will be an incredible asset to my office as we build out our agenda, preserve our country’s rich traditions, and serve the American people.”
{mosads}Grisham, who currently serves as White House deputy press secretary, said Monday she is “honored by the opportunity” to work alongside Melania Trump.
“Mrs. Trump’s life story is an inspiration to millions of mothers and female entrepreneurs, and to me personally,” she said.
“I deeply respect and admire her commitment to our country, her family, and to the important role of the First Lady. I look forward to helping her communicate her unifying message of kindness and empowerment.”
Grisham will transition to her new role in the coming weeks, according to a statement from the White House press secretary’s office.
The office said Grisham has more than decade of experience in communications, media relations and press logistics expertise.
Reports emerged last week that Melania Trump would move to the White House in June, after the end of the school year for 10-year-old Barron Trump, her son with the president.

The annual event for the Palm Beach County GOP took place at Mar-a-Lago, the private estate President Trump owns and has repeatedly frequented since becoming commander-in-chief.
Melania Trump briefly appeared at a VIP reception before a dinner where Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R) and other state officials spoke.
