Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) is throwing her support behind former rival Scott Brown to be secretary of Veterans Affairs.
“If Scott Brown is the nominee for Veterans Affairs, I have no doubt that he would put his heart and soul into trying to help veterans,” Warren said in an interview with WGBH News Wednesday.

“And I would put my heart and soul into trying to help him do that. You bet I’d support him for that.”
Brown won a special election in Massachusetts in 2010 to fill the seat left vacant by the death of Sen. Ted Kennedy (D) for the remainder of his term. He then ran for a full Senate term in 2012 but was defeated by Warren.
Brown is reportedly under consideration by President-elect Donald Trump to lead the VA.
Brown, who served for more than 30 years in the National Guard, has met with Trump. Brown told reporters he believes he’s the best person for the job.
Brown took to Twitter Thursday to thank Warren and pledged to work with her if he gets the post.
