The Humane Society said Thursday that its supports the felony charges against the man who jumped over the White House fence a day earlier.
{mosads}In a statement, Wayne Pacelle, CEO of the Humane Society, said the charges against 23-year-old Dominic Adesanya fall under the Federal Law Enforcement Animal Protection Act of 2000.
“This person didn’t just illegally enter the White House grounds — he attempted to seriously injure two law enforcement animals doing their duty,” Pacelle said. “We support his prosecution … and hope that a conviction and prison sentence deters other would be criminals from hurting dogs or horses doing their work to protect our country.”
Secret Service officials say the dogs were injured after Adesanya violently kicked them. The two dogs were taken to a veterinarian after the incident and treated for minor bruising. They were cleared to return to duty on Thursday.
