Obama to seek $2B for border control

President Obama will ask Congress for more than $2 billion to respond to the influx of immigrants illegally crossing the U.S.-Mexico border, also seeking broader powers to speed up deportations of unaccompanied children.

{mosads}The president plans to make the requests in a letter to be sent Monday, a White House official said Saturday, according to the Associated Press. Details of the appropriation will come after lawmakers return from their holiday recess on July 1.
