Watch: Schumer, Jeffries endorse Kamala Harris for president

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries (N.Y.) held a joint press briefing Tuesday where they both endorsed Vice President Harris for president.

Both lawmakers praised Harris on Monday as “off to a great start” in her bid to win the Democratic nomination for president but stopped short of endorsing her Monday.

The Democratic leaders also acknowledged Harris for promising to pursue the nomination “in a manner consistent with the grassroots and transparent process set forth by the Democratic National Committee (DNC).”

Harris crossed the threshold to secure the Democratic presidential nomination, receiving more than 1,968 delegate endorsements less than two days after Biden dropped out of the race.

The event is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. EDT.
