Watch live: House Dem leaders hold presser as Harris rises to top of ticket
House Democratic leaders are slated to their weekly press briefing Tuesday as the party rallies around Vice President Harris’ campaign, since President Biden dropped out of the race for reelection.
Vulnerable House Democrats are circling the wagons around Harris, arguing she will increase excitement for Democrats up and down the ballot as they work to recapture the lower chamber in November.
Harris has also seen a historic flood of donations since announcing her campaign shortly after Biden stepped aside on Sunday, and a surge in volunteering about 15 weeks out from the election.
The event is scheduled to begin at 11:15 a.m. EDT.
