Watch live: FAA administrator testifies before Senate on Boeing, airline safety
FAA Administrator Michael Whitaker is slated to testify Thursday before the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation.
This hearing will examine the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) oversight of Boeing’s aircraft manufacturing processes and production quality, including the FAA’s assessment of the recently submitted 90-day comprehensive plan by Boeing.
The hearing will cover FAA oversight of Boeing’s planned actions to respond to the recent FAA audits of Boeing and Spirit AeroSystems’ production lines as well as the findings and recommendations issued by the Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) Expert Review Panel, established by the 2020 Aircraft Certification, Safety and Accountability Act (ACSAA), and new measures in the recently enacted FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024.
