Two arrested after running on Super Bowl field in Las Vegas: police
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Two people were arrested after police say they ran on the field during the Super Bowl at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Sunday.
With approximately five minutes remaining in the third quarter of the Super Bowl, the two individuals took the field at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
“Oh, we’ve got people on the field,” said announcer Tony Romo.
“Oh my goodness, we do, we’ve got a streaker on the other …” Jim Nantz replied.
“Partial streaker,” Romo responded.
The person was never shown on the broadcast, and the incident did not appear to hold the game up for long.
Moments later, Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker nailed a 57-yard field goal, eclipsing the record for longest field goal ever in a Super Bowl, set earlier in the game by San Francisco 49ers rookie kicker Jake Moody.
Images appear to show as many as three people running on the field during the incident. The exact number of people who took the field was not immediately available.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officials said two people were arrested after the incident.
