Bottom Line: Boeing brings on former appropriations staffer

Aviation

The Boeing Company hired Squire Patton Boggs to lobby on issues related to FAA and national Defense bill reauthorization as well as Transportation, Housing and Urban Development appropriations. David LesStrang, who served as a senior staffer on the House Appropriations Committee for 14 years, will work on the account.

Finance

BGR Government Affairs registered to “provide strategic counsel and advocate on issues regarding asset management” on behalf of the BlackRock Fund Services Group. One of the lobbyists on the account is Keaghan Ames, former senior policy adviser and counselor at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

​BlackRock also hired The Petrizzo Group for asset management-related counsel and advocacy. T.J. Petrizzo, a Capitol Hill veteran who was chief of staff to the former vice chair of the House Republican Conference Jennifer Dunn (R-Wash.), will work on the account.

The ​National Association of Convenience Stores hired Tiger Hill Partners to lobby on competition issues in financial services. One of the lobbyists on the account is Milan Dalal, whose resume includes stints as a senior economic adviser to Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.) and as the staff director of the Senate Banking subcommittees on Securities, Insurance and Investment and National Security, International Trade and Finance.

The ​National Association of Theatre Owners hired Invariant to lobby on ticket fees, credit card and tax issues. Joel Richard, who was previously senior counsel to former Rep. Ted Deutch (D-Fla.), will work on the account.


Travel

​Allegiant Air hired Patel Partners to lobby on a range of issues related to aviation, taxation, travel and tourism, and the economy. Neal Patel, a Capitol Hill and Trump White House Office of Management and Budget alumnus, will work on the account.

Chemicals

The American Chemistry Council hired Crossroads Strategies to lobby on legislation and regulations impacting spray foam on behalf of its Spray Foam Coalition. Salim Alameddin, who was a legislative correspondent and staff assistant to Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) and a legislative assistant to former Rep. Will Hurd (R-Texas), will work on the account.
