Hillary Clinton on Friday responded personally to the Dallas sniper attack, praising the officers for protecting “peaceful protestors.”
“I mourn for the officers shot while doing their sacred duty,” she tweeted.
Five officers were killed when at least four gunmen opened fire during a massive protest in downtown Dallas against police violence. Seven officers and two civilians were also wounded.
One suspect was killed during an hourslong standoff with police after a bomb was transported near the shooter by a robot and detonated.
Clinton’s Democratic presidential campaign announced on Friday that it was canceling a scheduled campaign rally with Vice President Biden.
