Majorities of voters are confident in President Joe Biden’s ability to achieve key agenda items, a new Hill-HarrisX poll finds.
The survey, conducted ahead of Biden’s inauguration, found 60 percent of registered voters said they are confident in Biden’s ability to achieve rapid distribution of the coronavirus vaccine.
Sixty percent in the Jan. 8-11 poll also said they are confident in Biden’s ability to achieve climate change legislation and 59 percent said the same of his ability to gain public support for increased coronavirus restrictions.
Fifty-five percent said they have confidence in Biden’s ability to accomplish immigration reform and the same percentage of voters said they are confident in his ability to rebuild the post-pandemic economy.
The survey found an overwhelming amount of Democrats said they are confident in Biden’s ability to achieve key agenda items.
Roughly 90 percent of Democrats said they are confident in Biden’s ability to achieve rapid distribution of the vaccine, public support for increased coronavirus restrictions, climate change legislation, immigration reform and rebuilding the post-pandemic economy.
About 30 percent of Republican respondents said they are confident in Biden’s ability to achieve agenda items concerning the pandemic.
Thirty-four percent of Republicans said they are confident Biden, who was sworn in as the 46th president of the United States on Wednesday, will accomplish climate change legislation.
Twenty-three percent of Republicans said they are confident in Biden when it comes to immigration reform and 22 percent said the same concerning rebuilding the post-pandemic economy.
The Hill-HarrisX poll was conducted online among 2,854 registered voters. It has a margin of error of 1.8 percentage points.
