Poll: Cuomo has lowest favorability rating among Democratic presidential hopefuls

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has the lowest favorability rating among potential Democratic presidential hopefuls, according to a new American Barometer poll.

Twenty-three percent of respondents said they had a favorable view of Cuomo, while 29 percent of respondents said they had an unfavorable view of him.

Among Democrats surveyed, 33 percent said they had a favorable view of the governor, while 16 percent of Democrats said they held an unfavorable view.

Though Cuomo’s name has been floated among a list of potential Democratic presidential hopefuls, he is currently locked in a gubernatorial primary battle with progressive candidate and former actress Cynthia Nixon.

The survey, which included other potential Democratic hopefuls, such as Sens. Elizabeth Warren (Mass.), Kamala Harris (Calif.), Cory Booker (N.J.), and Kirsten Gillibrand (N.Y.), found that Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and former Vice President Joe Biden notched the highest favorability ratings from respondents.

Among those polled, 50 percent said they viewed Biden favorably, while 48 said the same of Sanders.

The survey was conducted July 21–22 among 1,001 registered voters.

Of the registered voters, 376 were Democrats.
