Briahna Joy Gray discusses minimum wage hike’s exclusion from COVID-19 bill

Briahna Joy Gray, a former spokeswoman for Sen. Bernie Sanders’s (I-Vt.) 2020 presidential campaign, joined Hill.TV’s “Rising” on Wednesday to discuss the exclusion of a minimum wage hike from the recent $1.9 COVID-19 relief package.

Gray told Krystal Ball and Saagar Enjeti that support for increasing the minimum wage is at an all-time high, but added that the issue has yet to see real support from President Biden.

“You had Joe Biden signaling over a week before the [Senate] parliamentarian’s ruling that he didn’t think the parliamentarian was going to come out in favor of the $15 minimum wage passing this way…which begs the question, was he seeding the ground for that kind of outcome?” Gray, who co-hosts the Bad Faith Podcast, asked.
