Grim: Past voting record could make August primary tough for Missouri Rep

Ryan Grim, The Intercept’s Washington, D.C, bureau chief, said that a new attack ad against longtime Rep. Lacy Clay (D-Mo.), which highlights Clay’s relationship with Wall Street, could make his primary battle in August more challenging.

As a senior member of the House Financial Services Committee in 2009, Clay worked against the former Obama administration’s attempt to implement a rule that would force financial advisers to act with their clients’ best interest in mind, Grim explained on Hill.Tv.

Clay faces stiff opposition from progressive candidate Cori Bush (D) who also challenged Clay in 2018, losing at the time by 20 percent.
