A prominent Russia analyst says that fears about Russia are exaggerated when America faces domestic crises.
“There is some hysteria among certain commentators – there is a Russia bear behind every bad thing that happens in the U.S.,” Nina Jankowicz, a global fellow at the Wilson Center’s Kennan Institute, told Hill.TV cohosts Krystal Ball and Buck Sexton on “Rising.”
Jankowicz said some are trying to find a Russia connection to the rise of alt-right groups in the U.S.
“We’ve had long-established problems with racism – we don’t need help Russia’s help with that,” Jankowicz countered.
Jankowicz says that while Russia is “exploiting preexisting fissures in our society,” the U.S. also needs look inward.
“Russia is making things worse. They are certainly meddling, but we need to solve these problems,” she told Hill.TV.
