The city of New York’s interim chief technology officer said in an episode of Hill.TV’s “Boundless” that augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) will be able to encourage a city’s residents to enter the work force.
“The thing that AR (augmented reality) and VR (virtual reality) provide, is that they can bring the classroom to the user, which is very different in that it can also provide experiential learning opportunities, which traditional education sometimes overlooks,” Alby Bocanegra told Hill.TV in an episode that aired Monda.
“So I think there’s a great opportunity to provide or to get residents into the future workforce by providing learning opportunities that didn’t exist before,” he continued.
Bocanegra cited New York’s Economic Development Corporation new AR and VR lab, which is aimed at job growth in the tech sector.
“Boundless” is a multi-part Hill.TV documentary series focused on technological advancements.
