Pence: Romney under ‘active consideration’ for secretary of State
Vice President-elect Mike Pence said Sunday that Mitt Romney is under “active consideration” to serve as secretary of State in a Donald Trump administration.
{mosads}”The president-elect was very grateful that the Gov. Mitt Romney came out,” Pence said on “Fox News Sunday.”
“They had a good meeting. It was a warm and a substantive exchange.”
Romney, the 2012 GOP nominee, met with Trump on Saturday to discuss foreign policy.
Pence said he and members of the Trump team spent about an hour with Romney. He said the team talked through substantive issues.
Trump and Romney also had some “private time together,” Pence said.
