Axelrod criticizes Clinton’s ‘unhealthy penchant for privacy’

David Axelrod took a shot at Hillary Clinton on Monday, suggesting the Democratic presidential nominee has “an unhealthy penchant for privacy.”

The former White House senior adviser to President Obama weighed in on Clinton’s pneumonia diagnosis while inquiring about a “cure” for Clinton’s penchant for privacy.

{mosads}Clinton’s doctor, Lisa Bardack, released a statement Sunday evening saying that the Democratic nominee had been suffering from pneumonia since Friday.

Clinton left a 9/11 memorial early on Sunday and was seen in video stumbling toward a van for departure, with aides helping to hold her.

She had become overheated and was dehydrated, her doctor said, noting that Clinton had been put on antibiotics.

Clinton’s communications director Jennifer Palmieri responded to Axelrod, admitting, “We could have done better yesterday” while defending access to Clinton.

Clinton’s campaign has been criticized by the media for not keeping the press appraised during her departure from the 9/11 event.

Republican Donald Trump’s campaign has fanned questioned about Clinton’s health for months, suggesting something more serious was at play, which Clinton’s campaign had dismissed.

Axelrod, who also worked on Obama’s 2012 reelection, has scrutinized Clinton’s campaign before, including in April when he suggested she stop using a “patronizing” line.

Clinton told reporters that she felt “great” after emerging from her daughter Chelsea’s apartment on Sunday, where she went after leaving the memorial.
