Sorry Atlanta, looks like the Mile High City is winning this round. ESPN reported the 2021 MLB All-Star game will be played at Coors Field in Denver after the league moved it out of Georgia in response to a controversial bill restricting voters’ rights.

So far, the decision has been met with name-calling, a push to end the league’s anti-trust status, calls for boycott, doubling down, criticism of the commissioner, a refusal to throw the first pitch in an opening game and all-out battle with Republicans.

The state estimates that MLB’s decision to move the All-Star game from Atlanta will cost the tourism industry in the area $100 million, but Georgia’s Democratic lawmakers, and organizer Stacey Abrams, joined Former President Obama in pointing the finger at the voting bill itself

“Major League Baseball fundamentally supports voting rights for all Americans and opposes restrictions to the ballot box. In 2020, MLB became the first professional sports league to join the non-partisan Civic Alliance to help build a future in which everyone participates in shaping the United States. We proudly used our platform to encourage baseball fans and communities throughout our country to perform their civic duty and actively participate in the voting process. Fair access to voting continues to have our game’s unwavering support,” said MLB Commissioner Robert D. Manfred, Jr. in a statement about the decision
