‘Twilight’ actor would ask Obama to make helping the homeless a priority

A former model for H&M, Guess and Ralph Lauren, Booboo Stewart was thrust into the global limelight when he captured the coveted role of Seth Clearwater in “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” and both installments of “Twilight: Breaking Dawn.” He also stars in the indie features “American Cowslip,” “Smitty” and “White Frog.”

He not only enjoys working in front of the camera, but also has been credited as a music composer and producer on some of his most recent projects.

{mosads}In addition to his film work, Stewart is preparing to release his first comic book, “Millennium Man” — which he both created and illustrated.

Stewart is first and foremost an athlete who holds the title of two World Black Belt Championships. Stewart serves as a celebrity ambassador for USA Child Help and MDA, supports the GATE program for academically gifted children, and volunteers at the Los Angeles Mission.

ROBIN BRONK: If you had five minutes in the Oval Office with President Obama, what would you discuss with him? What issue would you like him to know about?

BOOBOO STEWART: I would ask him what his favorite movie is — and then, how can we help the homeless and hungry here in our country? 

RB: If you could ask the president to make one issue a priority for the first 90 days of his second term, what would it be?

BS: Helping the homeless and unemployed. There has to be a better way. 

RB: What piece of advice would you give President Obama as he settles into his second term in office?

BS: To make sure he actually fulfills his campaign promises. People are counting on him.

RB: If you were going to send the president to one of your favorite places in the United States for one day, where would that be? Why?

BS: A store called Blast From the Past. It’s a cool collectable toy store. Then, go on a mud run to work up an appetite, and then hit my favorite restaurant, Mrs. Peaches, so he could be a regular guy for a day. 

RB: What CD/piece of music would you recommend that the president add to his collection? Why?

BS: Anything by Buckethead, because he is an incredible guitar player and I think the president would enjoy it. 

RB: Would you ever consider a political career?

BS: I haven’t. But I try to never say never.
