Clyburn: I don’t give Obama golf strokes

Rep. James Clyburn (D-S.C.) has been impressed with President Obama’s evolving golf game, but made it clear last week he doesn’t give the commander in chief strokes on the course.

Clyburn, who has been playing the sport far longer than Obama, told The Hill that the president has a fearless streak in his game.

{mosads}Sand traps intimidate many golfers, but Obama is not one of them, the third-ranking House Democrat said.

While Clyburn is generous with his praise for the president’s game, that generosity has its limits.

Clyburn quickly shot down any notion that he gives Obama strokes, saying with a laugh, “He’s 20 years my junior!”
