Actress Sharon Stone says that Obama’s reelection chances are ‘spectacular’
Sharon Stone, a supporter of President Obama’s, calls the chances of the commander in chief getting reelected come November “spectacular.”
The “Basic Instinct” actress was in town Friday to greet celebrity Kiehl’s
{mosads}LifeRide motorcyclists — who had traveled on a 10-day journey to raise money for the Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR) — at the skincare company’s store in Georgetown. She also honored Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates for his work combating AIDS at a celeb-studded ceremony at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts over the weekend.
When ITK asked the longtime AIDS-research advocate whether she believes the match-up against Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney will be close, Stone replied with a simple “No.”
The Golden Globe winner, who, as she did this year, donated heavily to Obama’s election effort in 2008, told us, “My support for him has never wavered.”
Stone, 54, also revealed that her next stop might be at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C. The Hollywood celeb says she’s “hoping” to attend the political gathering “if I don’t have to work on a film.”
The “Casino” star wasn’t the only Tinseltown regular gushing about Obama while in Washington.
Tyson Beckford, who has flashed his buff bod as a Ralph Lauren model and was among the Kiehl’s LifeRide motorcyclists raising moolah for amfAR, was quick to respond when we asked which politician could join him on the runway. Beckford said Obama, who stands 6’1”, has “got the height and he’s got the walk.” But does he really think the president could measure up to models on the runway?
“The commander in chief can do anything,” Beckford replied.
The Obama lovefest didn’t end there.
“Sex and the City: The Movie” hunk and “Dancing With the Stars” alum Gilles Marini, whose hair remained perfectly coiffed despite just pulling off his helmet after the miles-long motorcycle trek, said he didn’t have a need to give any dance lessons to lawmakers while in D.C. “I think President Obama doesn’t need any dancing moves, because I’m sure he dances pretty well already.”
The France native, who just received his U.S. citizenship last month, added, “The way he walks, he talks, he moves. He’s got that in his blood, for sure.”
