Kevin Spacey hangs out with House GOP

Oscar-winning actor Kevin Spacey chilled in the House GOP cloakroom on Tuesday night.

The Hollywood star was in the midst of GOP lawmakers during a series of votes as he conducted research for an upcoming role. Spacey hung out with a fellow Kevin, GOP Whip Kevin McCarthy (Calif.).

{mosads}Spacey explained to The Hill, “[W]e’re doing a show called ‘House of Cards,’ for Netflix. It was originally a British series, but now it’s placed in the United States — it’s about Congress.”

Spacey stars in the series, being filmed in Baltimore, as the “ruthless” House majority whip.

According to star-struck lawmakers, Spacey asked many questions about the role of the whip while he hung out in the cloakroom.

Some GOP lawmakers surreptitiously snapped pics of the unaffected actor as he sat on the mahogany leather armchairs in the antechamber.

One lawmaker told us that Spacey was seen chatting with Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) but was more interested in McCarthy’s role in the party, adding that the actor posed questions about the whip’s role and logistics for McCarthy’s staff and security detail.
