Power lunch on the patio at BLT Steak

BLT Steak has opened its 24-seat outdoor patio for the summer dining season. In celebration of the warm weather, executive chef and partner Laurent Tourondel has created a special summer sandwich and salad menu.

The new lunch menu features sophisticated salads such as poached lobster salad with avocado, arugula-cilantro salad, radishes, shallots and yellow wax beans with a curry-ginger mayonnaise; grilled figs wrapped in prosciutto with gorgonzola, endive and frisée dressed in a honey-mustard oil vinaigrette, along with apple and cinnamon walnuts; and beef filet carpaccio salad with truffle vinaigrette, shaved asparagus, arugula, pecorino Toscana and raw artichoke heart.

Some of the new signature sandwiches include the Spicy Soft-Shell Crab “BLT,” with sambal oelek mayonnaise and pea shoots, and the Prime Steak and Fontina Cheese sandwich, with royal trumpet duxelles, watercress and pickled ramps.

BLT Steak is located at 1624 Eye St. NW. Phone: 202-689-8999.
