Job Moves

ACA gets new CEO, D.C. office: ACA International announced Rozanne M. Andersen as its new chief executive officer. Andersen replaces Gary Rippentrop, who served as CEO since 1996. ACA is the credit, debt-collection and asset-purchasing industry’s largest trade association.
ACA also held the official grand opening for its federal government affairs office in Washington in late September. D.C. President Karolyn Rubin welcomed guests and congratulated ACA members who led to the purchase of the D.C. building.

Bernice Johnson hires new staff member: Melanie Alvord has joined Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson’s (D-Texas) staff as her senior policy adviser for transportation and infrastructure issues. Alvord recently worked as policy adviser to then-Sen. Ted Stevens (R-Alaska). Before heading to D.C., Alvord spent four years in Seattle as an account manager for a boutique public-relations firm. She also has headed the FAA’s Office of Communications.

Dahlkemper announces new legislative assistant and counsel: Rep. Kathy Dahlkemper (D-Pa.) announced Colleen Bell as her new legislative assistant and counsel. Bell previously worked as a legislative assistant to Rep. Mary Jo Kilroy (D-Ohio), handling homeland security, healthcare and energy issues. Before Congress, Bell worked as a public defender in New Hampshire. She received her J.D. from the Ohio State University and bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame.

Local doctor announces participation in national foot campaign: Dr. John Campbell of Baltimore and Soles4Souls announced their participation in the “Our Heart to Your Soles” national campaign. “Our Hearts to Your Soles” is an organization dedicated to providing less fortunate people across the U.S. with free foot screenings and footwear.
