Kingston’s office brings on southern belle: Whitney Thompson, new press staffer to Rep. Jack Kingston (R-Ga.), hails from Texas. Thompson, a graduate of St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, worked with Rep. Michael Burgess (R-Texas) before heading to D.C.
While in college, Thompson produced a morning radio show for Clear Channel and was an on-air reporter for Fox San Antonio. Working for Rep. Kingston, Thompson enjoys educating constituents about policy and how it affects their lives.
{mosads}In her free time, Thompson and her boyfriend enjoy traveling and watching sports.
Agriculture Committee staffer moves to St. Paul: Kristin Sosanie moves to St. Paul, Minn., this week to become deputy director of communications for the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party. Sosanie said it was a privilege to work for three and a half years for Rep. Collin Peterson (D-Minn.) and the rest of the Agriculture Committee staff. PetroAlgae announces new sales team: PetroAlgae announced last week the addition of nine senior international sales executives. Their task includes identifying licenses for PetroAlgae’s process, which involves growing, harvesting and converting micro-crops into diesel fuel. Some licenses could include vertically integrated national oil companies as well as private oil companies and large landowners. The execs have worked for BP, ConocoPhillips, Cargil, Trinity Industries, Merrill Lynch and Syngenta.
Sen. Carper staff members find love: Emily Cunningham married Tim Winstead on May 16 on the beach in Rehoboth, Del. Cunningham and Winstead met working together in Sen. Tom Carper’s (D-Del.) office. Cunningham is the senator’s press secretary and Winstead is his Sussex County director. Winstead is retired from the Delaware State Police.
