Lobbying World: Schumer alum heads to Hispanic Federation

Julietta Lopez is now vice president of federal affairs and network mobilization at the Hispanic Federation. She was most recently director of community and external affairs for Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.).

Cheryle Tucker is joining the Parsons Corporation as senior director of global government relations after more than 20 years on Capitol Hill. Tucker was most recently the Republican staff director of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Highways and Transit.

Austin Agrella joined the Aquia Group as a principal. He was most recently director of oversight and parliamentarian for the House Appropriations Committee under Chair Kay Granger (R-Texas), and his resume includes stints as staff director of the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Cybersecurity, as a special assistant to former President Donald Trump and at the National Telecommunications and Information Administration.

The Free State Foundation announced the addition of former Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Commissioner Michael O’Rielly as an adjunct senior fellow.

The Center for American Progress added Casey Peeks as senior director of early childhood policy and Veronica Goodman as senior director for workforce development policy. Peeks was previously director of federal policy at the Children’s Defense Fund, and Goodman was a policy adviser for Sen. Bob Casey (D-Pa.).


David Eiselsberg joined Prudential Financial Inc. as vice president of government affairs. He was most recently senior director for tax policy at the National Association of Manufacturers.

Colleene Thomas is joining Charm Industrial as the agriculture and forestry policy lead. Thomas most recently worked with the Department of Energy’s Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) office, and she was previously a senior policy adviser to Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wisc.) on agriculture, environment and natural resource issues.

BGR Group is opening an office in Atlanta, Ga. The firm tapped William Crozer, a principal and co-head of BGR’s bipartisan state and local advocacy practice, and Labriah Lee Holt, a vice president and the newly appointed managing director of the Atlanta office, to represent the firm in Georgia.
